This little guy arrived early in the morning and was the only birth we were lucky enough to see start to finish this year. He was up and running in 30 minutes flat! Textbook birth and first hour; we could have marked each item off a checklist at just the right time...unbelievable!
Axl is the first cria from his sire, Marauder's Blade, and we were so excited for him to arrive! Being that his sire has a "semi-bad boy" name, and Mom is Alexandria, we decided to pick the "baddest" name we could find for this little guy...that contained an "x". Thus the name Axl Rogue...a little word play on the name of a longtime favorite singer of ours.
Axl is developing a very fine fleece with a flatter lock style, good luster and density. His color is a gorgeous, rich mahogany and getting nicer as he matures. He had a very prominent, proud stance from day one and he just has that "herdsire" look about him. We can't wait to see how he develops!!
Axl is curious and mild-tempered..not at all like his "bad boy" name suggests! He often comes to us while we are working and nudges an arm to get our attention for a neck rub. He is such a sweet boy!
Axl did quite well at the MA & PA Alpaca Pronk in Centre Hall, PA on April 9-11!

We had 13 crias born in 2021 and now we need to make some room! These are not pet quality boys! All have very nice pedigrees, and Axl is no exception! He has black and grey genetics in his pedigree, and Champions on both sides. He has a fun, quirky personality as well...one of my favorite boys born last year!
