While we could never replace our special girl, Carina, we CAN replace her genetic potential in our herd and that is exactly what we set out to do this year......Enter Taha's Ivory! Ivory was a special find for us. I mentioned to a fellow alpaca breeder that we were looking for a specific set of genetics in a younger female, and what do you know....she knew someone, who knew someone, who had exactly what we were looking for!! Ivory is a fantastic female carrying the genetics of Pucara Hanapepe, one of our favorites! (And the genetics we were hoping to replace!) Her fleece and EPD stats are OUTSTANDING! Ivory has back-to-back top 1% EPDs in 2019, 2020 AND 2021. She is maintaining her excellent fleece characteristics as she ages, and that is really important to us and to our breeding program. We are looking forward to many years of beautiful crias from Miss Ivory.!! **SEPT 8, 2022** Ivory and Pacesetter knocked this one out of the park!! A fantastic male cria with phenomenal fleece! We are very excited about this boy!! More info and pictures coming soon! October 2022 We are so impressed with Ivory's cria with Pacesetter, that we have decided to do a repeat breeding for 2023! This pair is a really good match and we can't wait to see the outcome next fall! **September 2023 UPDATE** Ivory delivered a stunning 16.0 lb. white female on Sept. 14. She looks very promising! Ivory's cria was born before we got home from work, was all dry and had eaten plenty when we discovered her. We love it when the natural course of things takes place on its own. Ivory is a great mom and has lots of milk! This is Pacesetters last cria, so we are feeling mixed emotions today. Happy for a healthy female cria, but sad that we can't produce any more offspring from Pace. We are hoping for good things from this lovely girl though.
