**AS DESCRIBED BY PREVIOUS OWNER**
Aretha is a very correct and lovely alpaca. She has inherited her sire's color, luster and abundance of fleece. Her stunning sire, Moon River's Peruvian Durango, was exported to Australia last several years ago and his lineage is no longer available here in the United States. If you are not familiar with Durango, he was undefeated in the show ring and has 7 championship banners. My work schedule that year did not allow for time to show Aretha. Although Aretha was never shown, she is outstanding quality.! She is one of the best females we have produced on our farm during our decade of being involved in the alpaca industry. Don't miss out on a very extraordinary opportunity to purchase this amazing female for your breeding program. She just gave birth to an incredible medium fawn male sired by our Herdsire, Bouldermont's Peruvian Grant. Lots of luster and very fine pencil locks. I feel confident this young male will do very well at the shows, perhaps following in Durangos footsteps, he's that outstanding.
Aretha's first offspring Julio Iglesias was entered in three shows and placed first at each show.
Mapaca Jubilee 2015 full fleece medium fawn 1st place
Green Mountain Fall Spectacular 2014 Both Halter and Fleece 1st place
Her second cria Greta Garbo is a beautiful medium brown female who sold to Weaving Dreams Alpaca Farm.
Aretha is open at this time and ready to become an awesome foundation female at your farm. Contact us for more information on this beautiful suri.

Another rare/chance find for us! Aretha and her half-sister, Babs, will soon make the long trek to Honey Maple Farms from Vermont. We are very fortunate to have found these two girls, with increasingly rare genetics, to add to our herd. Her sire, Moon River's Peruvian Durango, is certainly no slouch and neither is she! We are still deciding which one of our herdsires we would like to pair with her first. We think that she would do well with just about any of them!!
While doing a little research on the offspring of Durango, I discovered some exciting information! Aretha is one of Durango's 2 remaining, actively breeding, females in the US!! (The other being Barbara Stanwyck, who now also resides at Honey Maple Farms!!)

We wasted no time planning a date for Aretha! She has been bred to Indi, while he is still at our farm. We are looking forward to seeing what these two stellar genetic animals will produce for us. Aretha has not had a cria for several years, so we wanted to get her started breeding as soon as possible. It is a bit early yet, but all signs are pointing to a pregnancy for Aretha so far!!
